The Elves of Cintra

eptember 2006 saw the release of one of Terry Brooks's most important books—Armageddon's Children. It is the first book of a trilogy titled Genesis of Shannara, and it is the story of the Great Wars Allanon describes to Shea and Wil Ohmsford in the Shannara series.

Now the second book, titled The Elves of Cintra, has been written and is currently being edited. The book is longer than Armageddon's Children and—like the middle books of the Heritage series—will be a near stand alone novel. It will mostly tell the story of Angel Perez and the Elves of Cintra as they go on a quest of their own for their ultimate survival. The Elves of Cintra has a tentative publication release for August 2007.

But for the holidays, Terry and I wanted to give fans something special. As many of you know, when Terry is on the road touring he reads from the book he is currently writing, and in September I audio taped him reading one of the first chapters from The Elves of Cintra. He also answered a few questions. The audio file embedded below is from that event.
