 hen Terry sat down and started writing The Sword of Shannara, he had no inkling of the success he would eventually achieve. He has since written 14 Shannara novels and has become a fixture in the fantasy genre.
As a companion to the Shannara novels, Terry has authorized the talented Russ Charpentier to create maps based on his Shannara series. Terry doesn't normally desire the merchandising of his novels in any way, but he felt a Four Lands series of maps by Russ made sense for the fans as well as the novels. Russ has contributed several maps to the series, including the maps for the Voyage and High Druid series. There are three maps available. They are titled Four Lands, The Castaway's Map and Parkasia. The first two maps come in three different formats - (A) a 16" x 24" offset format for $25.00; (B) a 20" x 30" Giclee format signed by the artist Russ Charpentier for $225.00; and (C) a dual-signed 20" x 30" Giclee signed by Terry Brooks and Russ Charpentier for $300.00. The Parkasia map comes in a 20" x 30" Giclee format signed by Russ Charpentier for $225.00 and a dual-signed 20" x 30" Giclee signed by Terry Brooks and Russ Charpentier for $300.00. There will only be 100 limited Giclees created for each of the two Giclee formats at this size. Please allow an additional 2 to 3 weeks shipping time for the dual-signed Terry Brooks Giclees.

The 16”x24” Offset is an unlimited press run on a good quality 80lb. textured cover stock. The colors may fade in time as with all printed material exposed to indirect light. The paper is not acid free and may darken over time. They are not signed or numbered. It is a copy, like a calendar or greeting card, it is not expected to appreciate in value over time but should look great for many years to come if properly cared for. The 20”x30” Giclee on the other hand is a limited, museum quality, hand pulled print, signed and numbered by Russ. They are produced one at a time, limited to a run of 100 and provided with a Certificate of Authenticity. The inks are brilliant archival quality and should not fade or loose their brilliance for 100 yrs. if not exposed to direct sunlight. The paper is heavy weight Reeves BFK acid free water color stock and will not yellow over time. Each giclee, unlike the offset, costs much more to produce and is considered an "original".
