Terry has now finished the new
Landover novel. His editor, Betsy Mitchell, has also finished reading the manuscript, edited it, and has sent it back to Terry for his consideration. As we speak, Terry is knee deep in editing for a few days. By next week, the next
Landover novel will be completely finished and ready for publication.
So why can't the book come out now, you may ask?
That's not all that must happen. There is cover art to create, a marketing plan to... well... plan. And more importantly, since this is the first new
Landover book to grace the shelves in over 12 years, Del Rey Books wants to do this right. Just like any other book, the new
Landover #6 must go to the art department for cover art and book design—but it doesn't stop there. Del Rey will also be creating two hardcover omnibuses for the new release:
The first omnibus will include
Magic Kingdom For Sale—Sold!,
The Black Unicorn and
Wizard at Large.
The second omnibus will contain
The Tangle Box and
Witches' Brew.
These will also require new cover art. The omnibuses will be released in August 2009, a month ahead of
#6 in September 2009. More on this as it becomes a reality!
