Tour Begins

Last night Terry began his 2008 tour with an event at the University Bookstore in Seattle WA. There was a large crowd on hand to hear him read from the forthcoming Landover novel and as always he answered as many questions as he could. Then Terry signed for several hours.


To launch this tour, I have created a new Pictures gallery on the website. Check back often as it will be updated when fans send in their photos!

In Bookstores!

That's right!

August 26th is here!

Terry and Del Rey Books have published The Gypsy Morph, Book Three in the Genesis of Shannara series! The book should be available in all fine US bookstores as of right now!

The Gypsy Morph wraps up the story arc begun in Armageddon's Children and The Elves of Cintra. No cliffhangers. No unfinished character stories. This is it and our world will never be the same again!

Be sure to visit the Events page to see if Terry is coming near you on tour in the next few weeks! And the website will have a few more videos uploaded for your enjoyment in the next few days.

The UK edition of The Gypsy Morph will be released in a week on September 2nd.

In US Bookstores!

Apparently The Gypsy Morph has been seen and purchased in several different US bookstores across the country!

Therefore, if you live in the US and want your copy possibly early, call your nearest bookstore and see if they have the new book! It's entirely possible you could get it a day early! Good luck!

I interviewed Robert Napton at the 2008 San Diego Comic-Con concerning his involvement with Dark Wraith of Shannara. Yes, that's my voice in the background, muffled by the Con as I didn't have a mic. No, this wasn't a planned interview: I had to wing it and Robert had to deal with it—hence the pauses!

Gypsy Morph News

The Gypsy Morph, Book Three of the Genesis of Shannara series, will be released August 26th, 2008! That is only one more week, folks!

In the meantime while you wait, Terry has written a new Letter to the Fans concerning The Gypsy Morph and Del Rey Books has conducted a new Interview with Terry where he discusses the new book and what is to come next!

I have also updated the Druid History Vault with this information as well as uploaded the Interview with Terry from August 2007 for the release of The Elves of Cintra. Enjoy!

Hardcover Arrival

There is a whole string of events that take place before a new release hardcover book graces bookstore shelves. After the book has been edited and its pages proofed by the author, the book file is sent to the printing press where thousands of the book roll off of a line. A certain amount of books go to the publisher's warehouse and the rest go to book distributors and online booksellers around the country.

In the case of Terry's new book, copies of The Gypsy Morph will arrive in bookstore receiving rooms a day or two before the August 26th release date—and even sometimes the book is placed on the shelves a bit early.

Today when I checked my mail, my hardcover copy of The Gypsy Morph had arrived. Below is a picture of it alongside my other copies of the Genesis of Shannara series.

The arrival of this book means some independent booksellers who are on Del Rey's mailing list will receive hardcover copies of their own. It does not mean bookstores will have the book—not yet, anyway—but it does mean you may start seeing these copies online in places. Just an FYI.

Stephenie Meyer Lunch

Terry and I had lunch today with Stephenie Meyer, the bestselling author of the Twilight series. Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final book in the series, was released last week and Stephenie came to Seattle on tour to support the book and meet her fans.

She is a fan of Terry's and notes The Sword of Shannara as the first "real book" she ever read. I thought why not set up a lunch between these two writers. I knew Terry had read Twilight and it seemed like a fun thing to do.
