UK Omnibuses

Over this summer, Orbit UK released three omnibuses of Terry's work. For those of you who don't know what an omnibus is, it is defined as "a volume of reprinted works of a single author or of works related in interest or theme."

In this case, Orbit reprinted each series together into one trade paperback book!

Those fans who live in the United Kingdom can find these readily available in bookstores. For those outside of the UK, feel free to visit Amazon UK or Book Fellas!

Both events had dozens and dozens of fans attending them, and they were able to listen to Terry read from the untitled Book Three in the Genesis of Shannara trilogy as well as answer questions from the audience.

Here are some pictures from those two events:

Pictures from these events—as well as the events forthcoming—will be posted on the website. If you attend one of these events and you want your picture posted, send the pictures to shawn @ signedpage dot com.

Cintra Reviews

The Elves of CintraWith the impending release of Terry's latest novel, The Elves of Cintra, only hours away we here at the Official Terry Brooks web site know just how excited everyone is to get their hands on what A Dribble of Ink calls "easily his most complete and entertaining book since 2000's Ilse Witch," and Fantasy Book Critic says that The Genesis of Shannara trilogy is "is shaping up to be one of the author's most accomplished works and I can't wait to see how it ends"!

Many web sites and publication have received early review copies of The Elves of Cintra and below you will find a collection of those reviews that we've run across on the Internet. Be sure to check them all out, as they each bring new opinions, praise and interesting commentary to light about Terry's newest, most exciting novel!

A Dribble of Ink (Thumbs Up!) | "it is with great pleasure that I can say that The Elves of Cintra, the sequel to Armageddon's Children, is even better, a rare accomplishment for a middle book of a trilogy."

Bookie Monster (Highly Recommended)| "It was very hard to pinpoint exact things that made Elves of Cintra and its predecessor such a great read, but that is probably because even as a reviewer my mind was drawn away from the artifice and into the story."

Fantasy Book Critic | "I think anyone who calls themselves a fan of Mr. Brooks would be hard-pressed not to enjoy the new trilogy. For readers new to Terry Brooks, I think the Genesis of Shannara would be accessible to you since it's basically serving as the ultimate prequel to the Shannara series."

Publishers Weekly (A Starred Review) | "Celebrating his 30th year as a professional writer, Brooks provides another fascinating group of characters tackling harrowing and inspiring life and death issues."

SFRevu (Beware of Spoilers!) | "Fans of epic fantasy will enjoy The Elves of Cintra. For anyone who's a fan of Terry Brooks, this is a must-read."

We're proud to say that each any everyone of these reviews have been glowing! If you find any others floating around the 'net, be sure to leave a comment and we can add it to the list! Hopefully these reviews will help when your appetite for The Elves of Cintra!

Online Signing

On August 27th, Terry will be signing the copies of The Elves of Cintra people ordered online at The Signed Page. This year he will be signing around 300 copies, personalizing them or just adding his signature.

Below is a picture of what 300 books looks like:

The books will be shipped over the next 8 days or so—The Signed Page is still waiting on some packing peanuts that might push shipping back a bit. Needless to say, Terry is always excited to sign books for those fans he cannot see on the road.

And yes, Terry may be a bestselling author, he gets to tour, and fans adore him, but his writing hand will be like a claw once he finishes with these! When he is out on tour, lend him your sympathy but make sure he knows it is his own fault for writing such excellent novels!

Dark Wraith Cover

In the last several years, Terry Brooks fans and collectors have been lucky; Terry, Del Rey Books, and Orbit Books have released multiple projects like reissued paperbacks with new covers, omnibus hardcovers gathering a group of books within a single tome, and maps based on Terry's Shannara world.

In a few days, The Elves of Cintra—Book Two in the Genesis of Shannara trilogy—will be released in the United States (August 28th). A week later, the book will be released in the UK and word has it the book has already leaked to online bookstores in Canada.

But in 2008, Terry will return to publishing two projects in a year. The second is the untitled third book in the Genesis of Shannara trilogy; the first is titled Dark Wraith of Shannara!

Forthcoming on March 25, 2008, Del Rey Books will release Dark Wraith of Shannara. It is an original graphic novel that takes place chronologically after The Wishsong of Shannara and the Shannara short story Indomitable.

Here is the cover for it:

Dark Wraith of Shannara Cover

Like those previous stories, Dark Wraith of Shannara is a tale with familiar characters—Kimber Boh, Cogline, Allanon, Jair Ohmsford, Brin Ohmsford, and Rone Leah. It is also the story of the unknown Croton Witch. It follows Jair's spiral into darkness as his magic overwhelms him after the events in Indomitable.

Terry created and outlined the story while helping guide adapting writer Robert Napton and artist Edwin David to the author's vision. More information on this project, like artwork page samples and story summary, will be supplied sometime in December.
