Ahhh Say it ain't so! He is a horrible director, look how badly he butchered Goblet of Fire, it is the worst of the Potter films. Mona Lisa Smile so terrible too, it had god awful shots, it lacked any character or depth. It looked flat! ::weeping in a corner::
yea man i totoaly agree with u, i was jsut about to say the exact same thing, aww, im soo dissapointed about this, and i do agree that he completly ruiend goblet of fire, which made me soo angry, i was hoping like the guy who did LOTR!, i jsut have to say BIG DISSAPOINTMENT!!
Goblet of fire was not a bad movie. Actually very coherent movie made out of probably the worst written book in the Potter series. As long as the vision is true to the script the movie will be great. He did Donnie Brasco and what people forget is that elfstones is a hardcore movie. A cross between lord of the Rings and a great demon action flick. There will need to be a lot of depth. Newell can accomplish this.
I THINK THAT MIKE NEWELL IS A GREAT CHOICE. I PERSONALLY LIKED THE HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE AND ALSO IT WAS MEANT TO BE DARK AND FORBIDDING. I AM HAPPY AND EXCITED TO FINALLY SEE THE SHANNARA SERIES MAKE IT TO THE BIG SCREEN! GOOD LUCK TERRY BROOKS!
I feel that Goblet of Fire was a good movie. The fact that he took some risks with Rowling's creative property (GoF was an excellent book by the way) was a good thing. I am eager to see one of Terry's books made into a movie and am willing to take an "assume the best" attitude. If Elfstones is as good as GoF was I will be pleased.
